449th Newsletter “Late Pass”

Archived Newsletters of the 449th Bomb Group Association

The 449th Bomb Group Association (BGA)began publishing a newsletter in 1982. For the first few years the newsletter was published on a yearly basis. In 1992 the newsletter received the name of “LatePass,” which was the call sign for the control tower at Grottaglie during WWII.

The newsletters contain a wide variety of information pertaining to the rich history of the 449th as well as details of the 449th BGA reunions which have been held on a regular basis since 1983.

The newsletters of the 449th have been converted to virtual online magazine-style newsletters which will allow the reader to flip through the pages with ease and adds a variety of functionality. The newsletters are arranged by date. To view a particular newsletter, simply click on the desired link below. Have fun!

If you haven’t already done so, please sign up for the 449th Email Club. We will digitally email you the 449th LatePass Newsletters when they are published and will also keep you current with any upcoming events and activities. We invite you to become part of the 449th family. Help us honor and treasure the dwindling few survivors that we are still blessed with to have in our lives. Help us preserve the memories and help remember the life, times and the many sacrifices that these brave men made, so that we today are able to live the life as we do… in this great country we call the United States.
